Fantastic Books to cuddle up to read this Winter

Sharing is caring!

If you have been a reader of my blog for awhile now then you probably know that I love reading. I think that it is a great way to unwind and destress and something that everyone should try to make a little bit of time for in their lives. I thought I should share some books you are going to love reading.

There are so many great books out there and the shame is that it would be impossible to read them all. That’s why I am always looking for good books to read and when I have read a lot and have some good ones to share I like to put together a post for my readers. So that if you are looking for a new read you have some good ideas. I find books to read on Goodreads, Brit and Co posts lists of great books and I have found some great books that way. Also, Modern Mrs. Darcy is a great resource for new books.

So here are some of the books I’ve recently read and love as well as some books that are on my to be read list. I always have a lot of books in my to-read pile. I’m behind on my goal to read 55 books this year so I plan to do a lot of reading during the next few months. I think these are 20+ books you are going to love reading this winter.

1 Into the Water by Paula Hawkins:

This is the second novel by the author of Girl on the Train. I had liked Girl on a Train and was excited that she had a new book coming out. It was another great suspense thriller. I didn’t always but I have become quite a fan of this genre and this was a fantastic book.

Goodreads rating:3.53/5

2.  All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven:

This is a great book and I really enjoyed it. Explore the intense and troubled friendship and the relationship between two young teens who are lovely and charming and a little bit broken.  This book really captures the roller coaster of emotions that take place when you are teens especially when you are young and in love.

Goodreads rating: 4.19/5

3. Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine:

I liked this book much more than I had expected to. It is the story of a woman who seemed to have a perfect life wonderful husband, great kids and all seems perfect until it is found out that her loving husband is actually a serial killer. So now her perfect life is shattered and she has changed her identity and made a new life with her kids. The past seems to have caught up with them.

Goodreads rating:4.13/5

4.One of us is Lying by Karen McManus:

Goodreads rating: 4.07/5

5. Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas:

This is the sixth book in the Throne of Glass series. If you are a fan of this series you will enjoy this latest installment. This book follows one of the main characters, Chaol, as he travels to a new land to heal and injury and discovers more than expected.

Goodreads rating:4.52/5

6. All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda:

This book was quite the thriller. It is the story of two young women who go missing years apart. It’s an interesting read in that the story is told backward. Starting with day 15 of the mystery and working back to day one. You will be trying to put the story together and figure things out as you get a little more of the story and mystery at a time.

Goodreads rating:3.79/5

7. Too fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud by Anne Helen Peterson:

This book was different from the types of books I usually go for. It is a collection of 15 stories about famous women who are too something for normal society. It explains why they are seen the way they are and how being not “normal” as both helped them succeed but also in many cases held them back. It’s a great book on how women are often seen as too much of certain things and how we need to change the expectations that society places on all of us.

Goodreads rating:3.96/5

8. The Hate you Give by Angie Thomas:

Goodreads rating:4.61/5

9. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

I had heard a lot of buzz about this book before I finally gave it a read. It was quite the mystery and unlike a lot of mystery novels, I did not know what was coming next. I was kept guessing and wondering. Was definitely worth the read and if you like a good mystery give it a chance.

Goodreads rating:3.67/5

10 & 11.This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

Goodreads rating:4.14/5  book 2: 4.29/5

These two books are such a fun and entertaining read. This YA series is an exciting and action-filled experience. The two main characters Kate and August are heirs to a City divided by monsters.  The characters are strong and the plot addictive.

12-14. The Zoe Goldman Books 1-3 By Sandra Block:

Goodreads rating:3.74-3.91/5

15. Reading People by Anne Bogel:

I was lucky enough to be on the launch team for this book by Anne Bogel. The blogger behind Modern Mrs. Darcy. This was a great book all about understanding how people see the world differently based on their different personalities.  As much as I love good novels and fiction I love the occasional self-help or informative book to help me learn and grow as a person.

Goodreads rating:4.23/5

16 & 17. And I Darken and Now I Rise by Kiersten White:

Goodreads rating:3.92/5  book 2: 4.29/5

18. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo:

This is my current read and I’m halfway through it. A group of young outcasts lead by a criminal try to make n impossible heist that will give them all the money they each need to start over or improve their lives. So far it’s really good and I’m enjoying getting to know the group of characters.
