For 2021 my goal is to read 110 books. That is a lot of books. Right now I’m 3 books behind schedule according to Goodreads but I can make that up with no problem. This is the biggest number of books I’ve set so my goal this year is quite big. I know I can do it though.
By the way, I’m truly loving using GoodReads to track my reading. You all were right! It is really motivational to see my progress! I’m a little behind where I should be towards my reading goal but I’ve been reading a ton lately. So I’m confident I will catch up.
I have finished 45 books so far in 2021 —- which is pretty great! Here’s the best of what I’ve read so far this year:
1.The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren
I’ve become a big fan of this author duo and this book was another great one from them.
Single mom Jessica Davis is a data and statistics wizard, but no amount of number crunching can convince her to step back into the dating world. 2. Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
This was a great twisty thriller that had me guessing from beginning to end.
People don’t just disappear without a trace…

3. The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave

6. The Ex Talk by Rachel Solomon
Shay Goldstein has been a producer at her Seattle public radio station for nearly a decade, and she can’t imagine working anywhere else. But lately it’s been a constant clash between her and her newest colleague, Dominic Yun, who’s fresh off a journalism master’s program and convinced he knows everything about public radio.
When the struggling station needs a new concept, Shay proposes a show that her boss green-lights with excitement. On The Ex Talk, two exes will deliver relationship advice live, on air. Their boss decides Shay and Dominic are the perfect co-hosts, given how much they already despise each other. Neither loves the idea of lying to listeners, but it’s this or unemployment. Their audience gets invested fast, and it’s not long before The Ex Talk becomes a must-listen in Seattle and climbs podcast charts.
As the show gets bigger, so does their deception, especially when Shay and Dominic start to fall for each other. In an industry that values truth, getting caught could mean the end of more than just their careers.

7 The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?
In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig’s enchanting blockbuster novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place.

8. Act your Age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert
This is the third book in the Brown sisters series. It might be my favorite of the three though I have enjoyed them all.

But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. 9. Shipped by Angie Hockman
If you are a fan of rom-com books like The Unhoneymooners then you will love this book by Angie Hockman. This is the prefect example of a Must-read books for summer 2021.

14. Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I heard so much good buzz about this book and it actually lived up to the hype. I devoured this book because it was so good.
Malibu: August 1983. It’s the day of Nina Riva’s annual end-of-summer party, and anticipation is at a fever pitch. Everyone wants to be around the famous Rivas: Nina, the talented surfer and supermodel; brothers Jay and Hud, one a championship surfer, the other a renowned photographer; and their adored baby sister, Kit. This book was a surprise to me. I didn’t know of Jamie before reading her book but it inspired me so much.
